  The Dutch Neck Church has been wonderful for me and my family. Like many “mainline” protestant churches, the membership, budget and staffing has contracted in recent years, but it is still a welcoming, vibrant, spirit-filled church. Sure, we are all human there :-), but we recognize that is why we need the one (or three?) we worship. If we had to pick a bumper sticker, I think it would be “God loves you, and we’re gonna try!”
  
  We have a new minister, who is loved by all (when does that happen?) and works hard to know the congregation so he can council, preach, lead, challenge, and inspire us in the most effective ways. He works well with our choir director and our organist to have a variety of music that fits and supports the message/theme of any particular Sunday. The message is always grounded in scripture, but relevant to the issues of the day. It gives us insight, comfort, and hope.
  
  There is a spectrum of theological views held by the members, although most would be considered liberal. This diversity is celebrated by many and, at least, tolerated by all. There are more than a dozen outreach programs, a decent amount of fellowship opportunities, and several groups working on spiritual formation. Our programs for youth and children are rebuilding, and, although modest in head counts, of very high quality, in my opinion.
  
  We not only welcome all comers, but downright celebrate them! If you visit and do not feel welcome, ask for Bill and I will buy you lunch, and then get you involved!
